"My session taught me to be brave, to take risks, to do things for my soul, and to let go of society's unrealistic body expectations. It taught me that I am beautiful and worth so much more than the negative voices that rear their ugly heads when I stand in front of the mirror.

My session showed me that I am beautiful and sexy just the way I am. Since my session, I feel more confident when I’m getting ready in the morning.

My thought process towards myself has changed. Instead of saying things like “You’d look great if you lost a few pounds” I say things like “Dang, you look good”. I truly believe that one session with Kellene did more for my self esteem in two visits than it would if I’d spent a year with a body image coach... not to mention, it was way more fun!

Kellene, I am so thankful to have you in my life! My session with you was one for the books. You turned this nervous girl with a boatload of insecurities into a queen. You looked past the person I present to the world and saw my soul. You’ve calmed the negative, self destructive voices that plague my mind, and showed me how incredibly beautiful I am. "I almost cancelled. I’m so glad I didn’t. The days leading up my shoot were really hard body days. I didn’t want to see my body, let alone anyone else. I had just had my daughter the end of December, an incredibly powerful, healing experience and was already pregnant again before Easter… I walked through the door feeling unsure but ready to fake it. Kellie is warm, welcoming and very personable. I felt my apprehension lifting. As my make up and hair were done we all chatted the atmosphere very comfortable. We selected my first outfit and I went to change a little nervous about how bloated I had been this pregnancy, my shirt wasn’t fitting like it had before but I was going to roll with it. I was nervous, jittery and second guessing how I could possibly pull this off. Then there was Kellie, with in a couple minutes into the first outfit on the couch, I was starting to relax. I was able to let go and think about things that would lend to the mood I wanted. Outfit changes were easy, each one bringing something new to the mood. Kellie was funny and kept the mood easy. She laughed with me and was just so real.

I was apprehensive in the beginning, by the end of my session I was ready to do it again. When I first saw my images I thought, “Is that me? Do I really look like that?” On bad days I open my app of images and I look at myself. I look at a woman who hasn’t reached her body goals yet but is worthy of want and love. Who is beautiful even when she doesn’t believe it. It’s helped me to remember that I don’t have to be societies definition of beautiful. I don’t look like I imagined I would growing up and that’s okay too. It helped me realize this body isn’t broken, it’s unique, chaotic and gorgeous."
